We are excited about your interest in our program. We strive to find self motivated learners with a breadth of clinical experiences who are passionate about the specialty of sport and exercise medicine.
To Apply
All applications must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to be accepted. Be sure to review the additional AMSSM instructions for all applicants which can be viewed here: https://www.aamc.org/download/345872/data/sports-supp.pdf.
The application cycle starts in July and interviews will typically be offered between Oct - Dec. Interview dates are typically held on Fridays. While our fellowship is sponsored by two separate institutions, in order to rank our fellowship, you must use the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center (South Bend) Program link to apply for both spots.

Requirements
In order to be considered for ranking, applicants must be:

Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the state of Indiana

Eligible for employment in the United States (we do not sponsor visas at this time)

Our program is best equipped to host Family Medicine graduates, however we will consider competitive Pediatric, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine applicants.
Selection Process
Sports medicine fellowships are quite competitive and as such we will review all applicants in order to find the best fit for our program. Interviews will be offered to competitive & eligible applicants.

Elective Rotation
The South Bend-Notre Dame Sports Fellowship DOES allow visitors for elective rotations. Please send copy of updated Curriculam Vitae, USMLE or COMLEX Board scores, and a brief written statement outlining your objective for rotating with our program to the contacts listed below. Preference will be given to competitive applicants.
Interested in a visiting rotation?
One to two week rotations should give you ample time to see up close who we are. Due to the competitive nature of our fellowship each request will be evaluated before acceptance. Please reach out to either program coordinator for more details.
